Re: heard something I've missed before |
Is it possible that at the 1980 Radio City shows Brent played an actual harpsichord on China Doll during the acoustic sets? I am not certain of this, and my recollection may be due to an altered state at the time, but on the first evening I attended I was inside early and saw them rolling the harpsichord onto the stage. My thought at that moment was – They are going to play Mountains of the Moon! Alas, that didn’t occur, but maybe someone else can verify the harpsichord presence?

Yes, Brent did in fact play a harpsichord during the 1980 acoustic sets at the Warfield, Saenger and Radio City Music Hall. I believe he only played the instrument during the acoustic performances of China Doll. However, Brent did not enjoy playing the Harpsichord...
"I never did feel comfortable with that thing...I kept missing the sustain pedal and the control of dynamics. You try to hit something soft and it doesn't come out soft.
